A Small Step for a Boy and a Giant Step for the Sanity of Womankind

Mom in a frenzy: "Wyatt! What did you just do??"

Wyatt acting aloof: "Nothing, Mom!"

Mom excited: "Wyatt!! You just tied your shoe by yourself!! ALL BY YOURSELF!"

Wyatt bashfully: "Yeah...."

Mom: "See, I KNEW you could do it!!!"

I have to take our little victories where possible. I am thrilled at this minor, but monumental accomplishment. Wyatt's tears and frustration over morning time school preparation rituals has been a source of maddening aggravation for me. I hope this means we are over the hurdle here...

Congratulations WYATT!!!

OMG - he is such a boy! When my son was Wyatt's age it was the first year of the velcro closure shoes. I don't think he learned to tie his own shoes until he was 10! Go Wyatt!

YAY, Wyatt!!!! Great job! What a milestone.

James is really concerned about having to wipe his own butt when he goes to kindy next year. That will be his next big achievement. :S

That is really cool, and you really got the pictures of his joy! I remember that was a big deal in my school. You had to be able to tie your shoes to pass kindergarten.
