Burgeoning

Burgeoning leaves begin peeking from the tips of naked branches in hope of sunlight to warm the epidermis and start the photosynthetic cycle again.

Burgeoning flower buds unfold from their dormancy waiting for that special insect to visit.

Burgeoning tadpoles with little, black, round-shaped bodies hint at the life form they will later become.

Burgeoning Sharpie-horse bursts with stored energy that winter's confinement creates.

Burgeoning with enthusiasm, Gemma thinks she can touch the clouds.

And race like the wind.

Not so burgeoning, Ella crawls backward on the evolutionary tree, sliding her body off the chair in strange and fascinating ways. This is the preferred method for eating one's lunch...

Or not...

Ella had to be extracted from this location by MOI, complete with tears and screaming. She is banned from this dining location from here on out!!!!!

Great post! Love all the pictures, tadpoles, they won't be around here for awhile, still snow on the ground.
Wow, Sharpie is really a flying pretzel! What a twisting leap that is! Great shot! LOL

Hehehe Silly Ella! Sharpie is just one of the prettiest horses I've ever seen! Gemma is beautiful too of course. :-D I'm so ready for spring. I think my forsythia is going to actually look pretty this year instead of like a stick with one bloom on it. hehe

Hahaha! Poor poor Ella.

You need to frame that picture of sharpie horse. Oh my god it's beautiful!! Okay, so are the other two but I like the unusualness of Sharpie.

I'm not horse lover, but that photo was gorgeous. Like something out of a magazine. Such silly Ella pictures! Too cute.

That first picture of the horse is fantastic! One of the best I've seen.
Poor Ella. I remember what it's like when as a kid having fun turns bad.

Hello Julia - I love learning new words. I looked it up on the Dictionary because I didn't know what it meant and I have an excuse - I was born and raised in Germany (and nobody ever told me - he, he, he)

Anyhow, I always enjoy your posts. I love the first 2 photos of the horses and Ella made me laugh ;-) Little kids are such monkeys, aren't they? I miss my daughter being a kid - now she thinks she's my mom!

Anyhow, if you get a chance, go read my blog about voting for my Gizzy and me offering more of my crocheted roosters potholders as a gift/compensation for donating...

Have a great day! Today is a wonderfully cook, crisp and windy day - brrrrrr - I just LOVE it!

correction: Today is a clear, cool, (maybe even chilly) crisp and windy day - Gizzy and I love it!

Oh, SPRING! In all it's glory. I agree with your horse. I would love to touch spring and kick as high as the clouds.

Your horses are stunningly beautiful!!!! And oh so happy!

Ella is a child after my own heart. My very own "monkey boy" stuck his head through the slats of a chair and couldn't figure out how to remedy the situation. I was torn between laughing at his predicament or panicking at the thought "how am I getting him outta this mess?" fortunately a little vasoline and some strategic wiggling and he was free. One would think he would learn from this lesson, but alas, this was not the case as we had a repeat the following week. Finally he figured out he could not crawl through the back of the chair to dismount.

Oh, Ella is so adorable as always. I just can't imagine any cuter or more entertaining little girl.
I love your horse photos and the ones of spring too. I'm happy to say here we just had two more feet of snow and are firmly ensconced in winter. Missed too much of it in the Ozarks and I want it to linger but I'll visit spring through your photos.
