Maximum Houdinii

More drama from The Horse Files....

I pulled off Max's wraps as direct by the vet yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to see a dry and healing wound. This looks excellent. Trust me on this one. I have seen these knee wounds before and this slice looks about as good as it can get. The knee is still swollen but will calm down in a few more days.

Mr. Escape Artist even got loose yesterday for a little roll in the sand arena and frolicking outside his stall and no extra damages were accrued. I will take small blessings where they are given.

I think tomorrow he can have paddock privileges, if he is good... Just kidding. He can't help himself but be naughty half the time.

So about Max letting himself out of his stall.

Here you go. This is how it is done. Not so tough when you mouth works like hands.

his wound is looking very good indeed, especially for being on a joint like it is. he's a very clever horse, what other tricks can he do?

I had a dog that was able to escape like that. One time she escaped the back door of the house, and came back pregnant. Just feel lucky you have an innocent horse.

I don't think I've ever seen a gate latch like that one. Too easy.

Have you ever gone to the zoo and noticed the lips on a rhinoceros? I've always wanted to name one of our horses "Old Rhino Lips". So far I've been vetoed. I think Max would make a good candidate. If interested, I'll transfer naming rights.

The slow mo was the best! He's got some super agile lips. Glad the knee is healing up. Doesn't look bad at all. I was getting a little queasy before I scrolled to the pic. But after the maggot incident with the rabbit, you'll forgive my brief girl squirm.

Tricky little (big) cuss! That's funny :) I'm not blessed with a barn yet, my houdini only has to challenge hot wire, her barn is a tree.
Hey are those your poppy's at left? And your sunflower-right? The dog gone dear ate my sunflowers to nubbins and I got retarded morphed little flowers this year. SOO sad!

I'm glad I found you and enjoy getting to know you and your clan. Animals and all.

Me...1 hubby, 4 kids, 1 draft, 2horses, 1 dog, 1 hound (a class of her own), 5 cats, 6 chickens, 2 pigs for now :)
